Banner upgrades Friday, Sept 22, 2023, from 8:00pm to Saturday, Sept 23, 2023, at 7:00am - Banner Self-Service (aka Banner Web or MyFVSU) will not be available during this time.
- Your FVSU username is the same as your FVSU email ID before the "@" sign.
Example: If your email = jsmith1@wildcat.fvsu.edu, then your username = jsmith1
• What is my First-Time Password? (I've never used my account before)
- Your first-time password is the word 'Password' (minus the quotes) plus your 6-digit birthdate (MMDDYY); 'P' is capitalized.
Example: If your birthdate = October 10, 1988, then your password = Password101088
• How should I format my new Password?
- You should create a STRONG password; one that is not easily guessed or hacked.
- USE at least eight letters; upper/lower case: a-z, A-Z
- USE numbers and punctuation: 0-9, !@#$%^&*()_+|~-=\`{}[]:";'<>?,./
- DON'T USE personal information, family names, birthdays, pets, friends, co-workers, fantasy characters, etc.
- DON'T USE addresses or phone numbers, etc.
- DON'T USE word or number patterns like aaabbb, qwerty, zyxwvuts, 123321, etc.
- DON'T USE words that are spelled backwards
- DON'T USE words that are preceded or followed by a digit (e.g., secret1, 1secret)
Example: the phrase might be: "This May Be One Way To Remember" - the password could be: "TmB1w2R!" or "Tmb1W>r~"
NOTE: DON'T use these examples!
• I haven't used my FVSU login in a while. What do I do?
- Email the IT Helpdesk requesting a "Student Network Password Reset" - include your name (required), student ID (required), photo (required for verification), alternate email address (optional) and phone number (required); someone will contact you.
Example: You're a junior and you haven't logged on since your freshman year.
• I'm locked out of Banner Web and/or need to have my PIN reset.
- Email the Registrar's Office requesting a "Banner Web PIN Reset" - include your name (required), student ID (required) and phone number (required); someone will contact you. After logging into Banner Web, set up your Security Question and Answer so that you can reset your own PIN.
• I'm in Banner Web and need to set up my Security Question and Answer so I can reset my own PIN. What do I do?
- Click "Personal Information"
- Click "Change Security Question"
- Enter new question and answer (remember, it's case sensitive)
- Save changes
