FAQ - Registrar's OfficeQ: Where can I get answers to frequently asked questions?
FAQ - Student AccountsQ: When will I receive my refund?
A: Your aid must post to your student account by 4:00 p.m. on Tuesdays. Refunds are generated bi-weekly after the first scheduled refund in the semester. Refund dates are subject to change. Please visit www.fvsu.edu for updates.
Q: How much is my refund?

Q: Do I have to pay my total tuition and fees at one time?
A: All tuition and fees are due at the time of registration. However, as a courtesy to our students FVSU offers payment plan services through Nelnet. You may contact Nelnet at 1-800-609-8056 (must register with Nelnet in advance).
Q: Can I change my meal plan?
A: It depends on your housing assignment-contact Residential Life at 478-825-6100.
Q: Can I opt out of the meal plan?
A: If you reside on campus you are required to have a meal plan.
Q: I live off campus. Can I purchase a meal plan?
A: Yes. You must be able to purchase the desired meal plan at the time of your request. Contact Residential Life at 478-825-6100.
Q: How much is tuition/housing?
A: The fee schedules are located on FVSU Website: www.fvsu.edu
Q: How can I secure a dorm room?
A: Pay the $200 non-refundable room reservation fee and submit the housing application and lease to Residential Life.
Q: Can I get a refund of the room reservation fee?
A: The room reservation fee is non-refundable.
Q: How can I cancel my housing?
A: Complete the housing cancellation form in Residential Life and submit all necessary documentation. Please contact Residential Life at 478-825-6100 for deadlines.
Q: My third party agency is paying my room reservation fee.
A: Inform the Office of Student Accounts-478-827-3035
Q: When will you bill my third party agency?
A: Third party agencies will be billed 4 to 8 weeks after the first day of class.
Q: Has my third party agency remitted payment?
A: Check your BannerWeb Account
Q: How much financial aid will I receive?
A: Check your BannerWeb account or contact the Financial Aid Office at 478-825-6351 or 6363.
Q: Why is there a hold on my account?
A: Check your BannerWeb Account for the type of hold and contact the respective office for details.
Q: How do I make a payment online?
A: Go to the FVSU Website, www.fvsu.edu, select Current Students, select Student Financial Services, select payment instructions.
Q: Can I make a payment over the phone?
Q: I have a hold on my account can I register for next semester?
A: It depends on the type of hold-contact Student Accounts at 478-827-3035. If you have an outstanding balance, the balance must be paid before registering for the next semester.
Q: Why were my classes rolled off?
A: Your fees were not paid or your instructors reported you to the Registrars Office as a no show.
Q: My fees are paid with financial aid but my classes were rolled off.
A: You must authorize the cashier to apply your financial aid to your account.
Q: My fees are paid by a third party agency but my classes were rolled off.
A: To prevent roll off contact Student Accounts 478-827-3035 prior to registration.
Q: How do I get my classes reinstated?
A: Contact the Registrar at 478-825-6282 or6283. Reinstatement fee is $100.
Q: I need to purchase a transcript but I have a hold on my account.
A: Account receivable holds must be paid in full before a transcript is released.
Q: I am a CDEP/Presidetial Scholar or a third party agency pays my tuition, but I receive a monthly bill.
A: You will receive a bill until your account is paid in full.
Q: Why am I being contacted by a collection agency?
A: FVSU has been unsuccessful at several attempts to collect your outstanding balance. Once your account has been turned over to a collection agency all communication must be with the collection agency.
Q: Why was my financial aid reversed off of my account after I paid my fees?
A: Contact the Financial Aid Office at 478-825-6351 or 6363
Q: What is the difference between a subsidized and unsubsidized loan?
A: A subsidized loan is an education loan where the federal government pays the interest until payment begins. An un-subsidized loan is an education loan where the student is responsible for the interest from the time of disbursement through repayment.

Q: My financial aid for this semester was applied to my charges for next semester.
A: If you do not wish for current aid to be applied toward a future term, please change your Title IV authorizations. See BannerWeb for instructions.
Q: I pay my childs tuition why cant I know whats going on with his/her account?
A: Students are able to give their parents access to their BannerWeb account by submitting a written statement to the Registrar.
Q: Im being given the run around.
A: Become familiar with FVSU and the different departments by consistently visiting the FVSU Website at www.fvsu.edu.
Learn the responsibility of each office.
Write down the name, phone number and date of the person you speak with.
Keep a copy of all documentation you submit and the date you submit it.
Never leave an office without fully understanding how that office has assisted you or can assist you.
Be persistent, but patient. Some processes take more time than others and require the collaboration of several departments.
